Tasmin Little (Narrator)
Mark Austin (Conductor)

A summer holiday in music, the melodious charm of Dvorak's 'Serenade for Strings' draws you in right from its first, sun-kissed theme. This song to the human soul is paired with a comic portrait of the animal kingdom: 'Carnival of the Animals' by Camille Saint-Saéns. Narrated by acclaimed violinist Tasmin Little, this is sure to be an exhilarating experience. In a rare opportunity to hear a world premiere twice in one day, the concert also presents a nature-inspired commission by the young British composer Charlotte Harding, a rising star on the classical scene. Mark Austin conducts the virtuosic Faust Chamber Orchestra in the launch concert for this year's CSM Summer Music Festival.
