A performance featuring music by the award-winning young composer Freya Waley-Cohen, including her arrangement of Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, settings of five emotive poems by the influential German Romantic author whose poetry was a huge influence on Mahler’s composition. The concert also features a new chamber piece for mezzo-soprano and chamber ensemble, receiving its world premiere in this series of concerts.
