East Anglian Young Composers Concert

The Marsyas Trio perform the winning entries in the East Anglian Young Composer Competition

Sunday 27th October

7:00 pm

Discover the amazing talents of young composers at this annual concert showcasing the winning and specially-commended entries in the East Anglian Young Composer Competition.
The pieces to be performed have all been written by children aged 18 and under who were invited to compose a piece of music, up to five minutes long, inspired by the Festival of Ideas theme of 'Change'. Entries have been composed for two or three instruments selected from flute, cello and piano.
The compositions will be played by members of the Marsyas Trio, a group of young professional musicians dedicated to performing music for flute, cello & piano from the Classical era to the present day, who are proactive in commissioning new music.

The programme will consist of the winning and specially commended competition entries – to be judged at the Finals held earlier the same day. The concert will also feature a specially commissioned new work by last year's East Anglian Young Composer of the Year, Jacob Fitzgerald.
