Stephen Hough’s debut at CMF has been rescheduled multiple times over the last 18 months, so we are delighted to welcome him to Cambridge at last.

Hailed as ‘truly an exquisite player’ by Musical America, Hough places his remarkable talent at the service of the music. These Chopin works sweep the listener along on a wave of exquisite melody and (for the time) innovative harmonies. The outer movements of Hough’s own Partita, which he describes as having an English flavour, suggest the world of a grand cathedral organ, ending with “a sortie out of the gothic gloom into brilliant Sunday sunshine”.
