The Clare College Music Society’s Michaelmas Term Concert features Dvořák’s Symphony No. 6 (1880), conducted by Colin Kang, as its centrepiece. The programme also includes Ravel’s Ma Mère L’Oye (1910), originally a piano duet suite later orchestrated by the composer, conducted by Thomas Alban. Opening the concert is Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture (1807), conducted by Mika Petrovic.
more about Clare College Music Society
Clare College Music Society (CCMS) is one of the most highly regarded music societies in Cambridge, giving students from Clare and the wider university the chance to take part in music-making of exceptional quality.
CCMS offers a wide variety of performance opportunities. Weekly recitals are held in Clare College Chapel every Monday at 1:15pm during term, drawing audiences of fellows, students, and members of the public. The Chapel also hosts Evenings of Reflection on select Wednesday nights at 9:30pm, providing a calm and contemplative close to the day.
Each term, CCMS presents a major orchestral concert in West Road Concert Hall, conducted by students. These concerts feature our CCMS orchestra, and also on occasion the CCMS chorus.
