Winner of the CCMS Concerto Competition, Will Harris, performs Dvorak’s much-loved Cello Concerto. This gargantuan work is paired with Mozart’s invigorating Prague Symphony. We are also treated to the première of Dawn Music – the winning piece of this year’s CCMS Composition Competition. It is an exciting work composed by Greg May, winner of the BBC Young Composer of the Year 2020 and second year Music student at Clare College.
more about Clare College Music Society
Clare College Music Society (CCMS) is one of the most highly regarded music societies in Cambridge, giving students from Clare and the wider university the chance to take part in music-making of exceptional quality.
CCMS offers a wide variety of performance opportunities. Weekly recitals are held in Clare College Chapel every Monday at 1:15pm during term, drawing audiences of fellows, students, and members of the public. The Chapel also hosts Evenings of Reflection on select Wednesday nights at 9:30pm, providing a calm and contemplative close to the day.
Each term, CCMS presents a major orchestral concert in West Road Concert Hall, conducted by students. These concerts feature our CCMS orchestra, and also on occasion the CCMS chorus.
