Live orchestral music, storytelling and circus artistry! Book for this enchanting show for children aged 4 – 11 and their families.

The concert brings the much-loved picture book Leon and the Place Between to life through live orchestral music, storytelling, animation and circus performance.

Join presenter Lucy Drever, circus artist Jordan Morton-Trowers and the musicians of Britten Sinfonia for this imaginative and interactive show, featuring music by composer Paul Rissmann and animations by Victor Craven.

Together they tell the story of Leon, a young boy determined to prove to his brothers and sister that magic really exists. When Leon volunteers for a magician’s act, he is whisked away to the magical “Place Between”, where everything that disappears in a magic trick ends up.

more about Britten Sinfonia

Britten Sinfonia is a different kind of orchestra. It is defined not by the traditional figurehead of a principal conductor, but by the dynamic and democratic meeting of its outstanding individual players and the broad range of their collaborators.

Rooted in the East of England, where it is the only professional orchestra working throughout the region, Britten Sinfonia also has a national and international reputation as one of today’s finest ensembles. It is renowned for its adventurous programming and stunningly high-quality performances, and equally for its record of commissioning new music, nurturing new composing talent, and inspiring schoolchildren, hospital patients and communities across the East of England.

“one of our most innovative and vital ensembles” - The Guardian
