A concert featuring the combined orchestras of Cambridge Sinfonietta and Junges Sinfonieorchester Aachen performing a programme of music initially performed in Aachen on the first leg of this exciting exchange project.

The popular and atmospheric Holst’s Planets Suite calls for a large orchestra and explores the characters of the seven planets of the solar system.  The Czech composer Josef Suk was a pupil and son in law to Antonin Dvorak.  His Scherzo Fantastique is a playful and lively composition. Bert Grund was a German composer particularly know for composing film music.  This concert is the UK premier of his Divertimento for Horn with soloist Theo Wiemes.
