Join the Cambridge University Orchestra for an unforgettable evening of music under the baton of brilliant young conductor and Rotterdam Conducting Competition-winner Bertie Baigent, a Cambridge graduate and rising star on the international stage. The programme opens with Lili Boulanger’s haunting D’un Soir Triste, before Eliza Ruffle (joint winner of the 2025 Cambridge University Concerto Competition) performs Rachmaninov’s youthful and virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 1. The concert closes with the radiant lyricism and joy of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8.
Arrive early at 6pm for a special pre-concert performance by Ensemble Alternance, one of France’s leading contemporary music groups, included in the ticket price. The fascinating programme will include music by Philippe Racine, David Philip Hefti, Klaus Huber, and Dieter Ammann.
