Cambridge University Lunchtime Concert
To continue marking the 50-year anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich’s death, 2nd year music student, Isaac Chan, joins players from across the university in a performance of Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet in G minor. Upon its composition in 1940, the work went on to win a composition competition and earn Shostakovich a healthy monetary prize

Cambridge University Orchestra
Jacqueline Shave – a guest leader of many leading British orchestras and former director of Britten Sinfonia – directs the flagship Cambridge University Orchestra from the violin in its final concert of the academic year.

East Anglia Chamber Orchestra
East Anglia Chamber Orchestra return to West Road under the baton of guest conductor Dominic Grier. They are delighted to include the Nielsen Flute Concerto with the wonderful Zara Makinson.
Tuesday 13 May
4th year AMES student, singer and cellist, Sarah Henderson, performs Arnold Schoenberg’s Sprechstimme masterpiece, Pierrot Lunaire. This work will be performed alongside recent student compositions inspired by the instrumentation and melodic themes of Schoenberg’s work.
